Despite losing its final two regular season games, the Fordham men’s basketball team is excited about the Atlantic 10 tournament.
The men’s basketball team picked up its first Atlantic 10 conference win of the season this past Saturday, defeating Saint Louis 83-65.
“I think we’ve lost one just about every way this year,” men’s basketball head coach Tom Pecora said after the team’s loss to Rhode Island.
“We play our tails off for about 30 minutes and then we just get worn down. We don’t have the grit of a veteran team,” said head coach Tom Pecora.
The Rams managed to find the surface Monday night, holding off the Siena Saints for a thrilling 69-67 victory.
Last season, the Dallas Mavericks finished the year with a 49-33 record and qualified for the playoffs as the No. 8 seed in the Western Con- ference. The only problem was that that record would have made the Mavs the No. 3 seed in the much weaker Eastern Conference.
Things did not go as well in the Rams’ second game. Fordham’s lack of experience was put on full display against Penn State, and the Rams fell 73-54.
It is a long road back to the top.
For the first time since 2007, the Fordham Rams are Patriot League Champions.
When Phil Jackson took the job as president of basketball operations for the New York Knicks, he – to no one’s surprise – made it very clear that the triangle offense would be coming with him to Madison Square Garden.
